New Future of TV coalition champions viewers

The Future of TV launched a new coalition, committed to program diversity in digital broadcasting and the preservation of a competitive, consumer-focused media environment.

The National Association of Broadcasters and their partners in the endeavor comprise a broad array of constituencies that rely on broadcast television, including BounceTV, Center for Asian American Media, MHz Networks, Native American Public Telecommunications, Vme and many more.

Carmen DiRienzo, founder and president of Vme, drove home the importance of this coalition. As Current.org wrote, “‘Digital television is a huge, free and important part of the digital future,” [Ms. DiRienzo] said. She said that if free, over-the-air TV were not protected, it would ‘disenfranchise millions of Americans…’” (read more)

Members will work together to advance public policy initiatives that allow broadcasters to rigorously innovate and invest in technologies to better serve viewers.

    THANKS LOTS ! Yes ! If we the Elderly which are on a VERY FIXED INCOME. Are charged with pay TV. Then we will again have to make choises on things, what not to pay now and then so we can keep intouch with the World thru the TV News channels, have some sort of cheep interainment. Thanks for staying with us in this matter.
